29.05.2014 Innovative technologies unveiled for lowering costs in vehicle and component manufacturing at 8th edition of Automotive Engineering Show 2014

Increased industry response builds momentum for a successful edition

Automotive Engineering Show, India’s only trade fair focused on technologies for automotive manufacturing, opened its doors to domestic and international automotive industry professionals today at Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre, Chinchwad, Pune, India.

While addressing the audience during the inaugural ceremony, Mr Raj Manek, Managing Director, Messe Frankfurt India remarked, “The competency and competitiveness of India’s auto industry has received global attention. As competition intensifies among vehicle manufacturers, companies across the value chain must adapt their strategies to aim for operational excellence. We are glad that companies see Automotive Engineering Show as a platform to source new technologies and connect with the industry. Adding this show to our portfolio will significantly complement our existing fair – ACMA Automechanika.”

Spread across 3,000 sqm of exhibition space, the trade fair has over 100 leading exhibitors showcasing innovative technologies and products designed to suit the requirements of the Indian automobile industry. Key highlights of the first day at the trade fair were:

  1. Unveiling of Dry-lube Equipment & consumables – an Italian Patented Technology, developed by m/s ALTEA Srl, Italy by 3C Solutions India Pvt Ltd
  2. Launch of Bettinelli Automation Components’ heavy duty Turn Tables coupled with SEW Motoreducers called TRW Series. 
  3. Launch of EYP Model Pulse Wrench achieving the highest torque accuracy for industrial fastening applications by Micromeasures Metrelogy Pvt Ltd
  4. Launch of AUTOLEAN – An APQP solution for automotive suppliers by Steepgraph Systems Pvt Ltd, which can manage all functions of the APQP process from one system
  5. Launch of HumiSeal’s UV50 and UV500 conformal coating products
  6. Launch of Axxon’s fast-charging carbon battery, a first-of-its-kind product in India for solar power applications

Other interesting technologies showcased at the exhibition include:

  1. The world’s smallest, lightest, and most affordable contact/non-contact portable measurement system – The FARO® Edge ScanArm ES
  2. SICK’s unique deTec4 Core safety light curtain
  3. The award-winning ECOPHOTOx-CR – Waste Coolant Recovery & Reuse System by Praj Industries

Commenting on how Automotive Engineering Show complements the growth of the sector, Mr. R. R. Jadhav, Commissioner – Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation said: “With the large pool of talented workforce and customer base, India is already on its way to becoming the world’s biggest automotive hub. By bringing forward new innovations and facilitating interaction between manufacturers and OEMs, the Automotive Engineering Show serves as an important platform in taking this sector to the next stage. Being one of India’s most important automotive hubs, I am glad that Messe Frankfurt decided to host this important tradeshow at PCMC, Pune.”

A significant increase in the number of visiting industry professionals was seen on day one of the fair. AES Seminar scheduled on 30th May is expected to attract more industry professionals as it promises to bring experts from the designing, manufacturing and consulting sides to discuss strategies on ‘Lowering costs in Automotive Plants‘. Associate partner Siemens PLM India will host a session on Energy Savings with Tecnomatix Plant Simulation Solution while Mr S N Ambardekar, Chief Mentor, Zensman Consultants & Ex. VP Manufacturing – Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors will address attendees on tactics for ‘Lean Manufacturing for Competitive Advantage’ at the seminar.

More than just an exhibition, the Automotive Engineering Show is a platform where trade visitors can also learn about plant processes and modern shop floor practices. Experts present at the AES Technology Zone: Learning Centre can be consulted on concepts of total preventive maintenance and machine monitoring. The Metrology Zone will also be accessible to all trade visitors during show hours. Professionals who have queries about in-line inspection on the production line can consult technology experts present at the Technology Zone.

Auto business professionals who plan to establish bases in the European market or move closer to their international clients can attend the ‘Automotive Region FrankfurtRheinMain: Where Design and Know-how meet’ session and consult the German Metropolitan Region FrankfurtRheinMain to understand the procedure and trade policies.  

A most reliable platform to source automation solutions from leading brands such as Henkel Adhesive Technologies,  ifm electronic GmbH, Gantner Instruments GmbH, Praj Industries Ltd., Metal Power Analytical (I) Pvt. Ltd. among others, the exhibition will be open to trade visitors from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre, Chinchwad, Pune until 31 May 2014.
